It's definitively one of the best video editing tools in the market. It has almost all the features I need for editing video, and audio. The only thing missing is a couple of plug-ins not available with this version, which you can still buy them later but it would make more sense if it had them already. Overall I'm very pleased and satisfied with it.

Vegas is a highly intuitive and versatile video production and editing platform. I have found it far more stable, easier to use, and much more versatile than the other platforms I've used, including Pinnacle, Corel Video Studio 11, and Windows Movie Maker. I find that all of the other platforms I've used crash or hang very easily, and their limitations are a source of constant frustration. If you really want to do your home videos justice, Vegas is a must.

My son got this software and really likes the effects he can do. However, he did not realize there were so many versions of the software, and he thought this one has "color corrector secondary," but it does not. Make sure you read the specifications carefully before you buy.

Dang! And I was thinking Ulead was at high standards! This editor is the best, and most efficient editor I have ever used. I am only a teenager that wants to look into video editing for a possible career. Yet, I could easily figure out everything, and know how to use it. I've dealt with most of the "BIG" editors out there, and was not as satisfied as I was with Vegas. You have ALL of the possibilities and much, much more. And, if you want, you can give your effects an extra "Kick", as I like to call it, by downloading a free, awesome plug-in for this product called "NewBlueFX" and Sony Vegas also comes with a code to register your NewBlueFX plug-in. So you don;t have to worry about a watermark.
Pros: Can't get much better, very easy to use. Awesome Effects, transition, etc...
Cons: Only available for a PC.

As usual, Amazon delivered on time with no problems.
Found it difficult to get started with the program as there were few clear instructions. The enclosed instruction books must have been written by one of the sub-prime mortgage brokers - the print is so small as to be undecipherable and the English is definitely written so as to be difficult to comprehend. Once I went on line to the free Sony tutorials life became much easier and I have produced 3 videos all about 1 hour long using old 8mm film downloaded to digital tape, VHS tape downloaded to digital tape and digital tape. All have music, narration and titles. Very happy with the results. Feel there is a lot more to the program than I have used so far, but I would definitely recommend it over the Roxio programs that I had before. Gave 4 stars only because of the limited instructions.
