Transcend 8 GB SDHC flash memory & reader January 1, 2009 The memory card works great with my FUJI camera. the reader is great because most computers don't recognize the SDHC card
Great value and wonderful product December 31, 2008 I got this product for the reader, but to get a 8 GB SD card with it makes it a truly great deal. The reader is wonderful -- it's compact, and it worked right away on my XP laptop. This laptop, by the way, wouldn't recognize my main reader (which accepts a wider range of cards), so I was pleased that it worked within moments of my plugging it in. It's fast, too. Love the compact size -- I can stick it into my camera bag easily, so I can easily transfer files, no matter where I am. I use it only for standard sized SD and SDHC cards, but it also takes the micro SDs, which is a nice feature to allow transfer of files from my cell phone.
Excellent product December 31, 2008 Prior to purchasing this product, I read the reviews written by other customers. I wanted some reassurance because I had never heard of Transcend. Some of the reviews made me worry about the quality and reliability of this Transcend SDHC card and the compact card reader. Before I purchased this product, I took a look at the manufacturer's website. When the product arrived in the mail, I immediately used the card reader to download images from the SanDisk 4GB SDHC card that I had been using in my new Canon camera (Canon PowerShot SD880 IS). I inserted the card in the Transend card reader, plugged the reader into my Mac computer (PowerBook G4), the Canon browser utility immediately recognized it, and the download was fast and without any problems. Then, I inserted the new Transcend 8 GB card into my camera and snapped a couple shots of my messy desk. No problems with the card. The tiny USB card reader fits into a camera case. Great product.
good value for the price December 28, 2008 This bundle is great. The 8gb card has large capacity and works great. The speed it very good (records high quality videos and transfers to the computer in a much quicker speed than the old memory stick that I used to have). I didn't really need the card reader since I have the card reader in my computer already, but I keep it with my camera in case I need to download pictures to a computer that doesn't have the card reader built-in. It is fast and works great. The connection is also good, doesn't interfere with the computer case or anything else. Good purchase for a low price!
Great little memory chips, good for cameras, better than hard drives in computers December 26, 2008 I Bought a little Asus laptop I thought the original 20 gig solid state hard drive would not be enough, & because I needed a way to transfer information from my old windows computer. I Have one full of music, & one for pictures, they work in my camera too.Now because the memory chips are so big, it may be good to divide picture files into 300 meg folders,Since many computers can not handle larger files without upgrades. But as far as data loss, this has never been a problem. I once bought a little camera from Amazon.com about 7 years ago, Since then, even if I dont buy the product, it is a good source to discover the product quality, before I buy it. The memory chips are very fast, actually faster than the hard drive, so small files of my favorite programs are kept on the memory chips, where they dont get lost, even if the computer crashes. It has been said that there may be a 10 year memory limit on its memory, because it is a magnetic based memory, but if you review your information periodically, windows replaces the file with a new copy, every time you read it. Under normal conditions you would have to totally delete the memory 10,000 times before it ever wears out, I may not ever live long enough to see that day. So I guess Im hooked on these memory chips, My cameras, my computers & me are very happy, I think Transend may be the best for speed & price.
