Canon Focusing Screen September 23, 2008 Excellent! Great help to stay within the 2/3 rule. . . . . .it should be standard with the camera. As a matter of fact, I think it is standard in the 50D.
Great upgrade! September 22, 2008 I wish I would have ordered this screen the day I ordered my camera. It makes it so easy to line up horizons or buildings when doing architectual photography! The nice thing is, if you aren't looking for the grid, it doesn't really stand out, so you don't even notice it.
EF-D Screen Install - not so good August 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The instructions and the Canon video I viewed made this look like a super easy install which it should be. Following the instructions to the letter, the orginal screen didn't want to drop down in the holder. Once I got it out, using the supplied tool, the new screen didn't want to seat as shown in the video so the holder wouldn't latch up. I tried seating the screen several times more and got it to latch in place. To my amazement, despite being in a factory sealed container, I have a smudgy looking streak to the left of center of the screen. I will need to pull it out and see if it can be cleaned or if it's a defective screen. Since I bought it from a local shop, I may have them look at it.
I do need this screen to help me keep my images horizontal as my varilux eyeglasses have given me problems in the past.
Focusing Screen July 28, 2008 This is a must if you wish to be certain as to your alignment. Works best when using Live View. I take a lot of time photos and found this to work better than the focusing screen that comes with the camera. Had a similar screen when I used my 35mm film camera.
It's Canon, and just what I wanted! July 13, 2008 I just purchased a Canon 40D SLR digital camera and when I found that it has interchangeable focus screens I knew I had to have this one. I knew if Amazon had it in stock it would be "Prime" and that is the way to go. The purchase has proven to be a go idea, and I am very pleased with everything related to this transaction.
