 Does not work with Etrex Vista October 28, 2008
As many have mentioned before, this product does not work with the Etrex Vista. I have the Vista Hcx and was pretty excited to get this mount, only to find out the cover doesn't fit the back of the GPS unit. I wish I had read all the 1-star reviews before ordering this item, it's disconcerting to see that Amazon lists this item as compatible with the Vista when in reality, it's not.

The mounting kit looks good and is simple enough. However the back will not fit the Garmin Vista HCx with the memory card next to the batteries.
For -CX models, get RAM Mount instead October 18, 2008

If you have a -CX based eTrex model (legend of vista), the back cover plate will not accommodate the microSD card. So instead of this, I'd recommend getting a RAM mount: RAM Mounting Systems Handlebar Mount for Garmin eTrex Venture C, Legend C, Vista C, Venture CX, Legend CX, Vista CX or do it yourself and build your own mount, see instructables.com

It is a little strange that you have to switch the battery covers to use the bike mount, but that's the only negative and one not worth anything other then mentioning (I hate extra parts to keep track of). The mount comes with a couple different size shims for different size handlebars, and works great on my mountain bike rides.
Very Secure and Easy To Use September 5, 2008
I love this device for my bicycle. It works very well, is very sturdy and is very secure. I would love to see a product with the option to buy two bicycle mounts since I have several different bicycles.
