Great Targus case January 6, 2009 This is a great case. It is very light weight and durable. The main compartment is large enough for a notebook computer and has enough pockets to put extra things. I would highly recommend this case.
Great at first... December 23, 2008 ...but I'm very disappointed with this product about a year later.
After an upgrade to a wide-screen laptop I had to say goodbye to my old Targus case that had served me well for longer than I can remember. There was never a doubt about what brand to purchase for a new one, and the Los Angeles was what I decided on.
As I said, early on I was quite happy with the case - the abundance of space made it easy to lug around my laptop, peripherals, notepad, and software case with room to spare.
But within a few months my opinion of this product changed. The velcro binder on the hand-hold has frayed the material, making it look shabby and two of the zipper pulls have broken off. But by far the most irritating problem is the shoulder strap. It refuses to stay adjusted to the length I set it to, invariably loosening until the strap drags on the ground if carried by the handle. The shoulder strap also always seems to be twisted up as well.
All in all, it's starting to look very shabby after a very short period. Not the Targus quality I remember.
travel case for large laptop 17 inch screen December 17, 2008 Excellent product large laptop,it has plenty of storage space for numerous laptop related items.Access to extra items is excellent.I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a affordable carrying case for there laptop.
Awesome product December 16, 2008 I got this back to hold my new apple macbook pro 15" unibody, which it does very nicely. Lots of room for the charger and misc stuff. I can also put two textbooks in there with a couple of notebooks for class and it all fits quite well. The only downside is the lame cell phone holder on the strap, but since you can remove it doesn't really matter. Great product
Targus 17" CityGear is GREAT! December 12, 2008 After much searching, at last a messanger bag that actually fits the HP DV-7 Entertainment 17" notebook. This bag is a great fit with room to spare for those important things like power cord, mouse, and other stuff important stuff like Ipod, pens, paper, phone, business cards etc. The strap is very comfortable to carry this not-so-light notebook around and after a few weeks of use, this bag really protects as well. I did make a sleeve for the computer to slip in to and that makes for a little more protection where the messenger bag flap gaps a bit on the corners when you are carrying it by the handle rather than the strap. It would have been nice to have the handle attached to the sides of the bag and around the top rather than attached to the top of the bag. When you carry it by the handle, it does put all the weight on the buckle fastener. Make certain it is fastened it you pick it up by the handle. Anyway, this bag is a definite keeper and does the job of protecting as well as being comfortable to carry...and it FITS the 17" with a little room to spare.
