Excellent little notebook! January 8, 2009 Purchased this notebook for my personal use and my 12 year daughter. Arrived in excellent condition with no problems. The smaller screen took hardly any time at all to get use to and the keyboard fits comfortably. An excellent buy!
EE NET PC REVIEW January 7, 2009 I JUST WANTED TO LET THE CUSTOMERS KNOW THAT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NETBOOK EECPC WILL BE UR BEST BET. I VE BEEN USING HIGHEND LAPTOP FOR LAST 10YRS.BUT NETBOOK MADE EASIER FOR MY TRAVELLING AND IT DOES THE JOB.BATTERY IF IT IS FULLY CHARGED IT CAN GO UPTO 5 HRS.MY LAPTOP WONT LAST MORE THAN 2HRS. IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE ASUS EEC PC WILL BE THE BEST BET.
Nice PC but shift key in the wrong place January 7, 2009 I would give this PC 5 stars, but for some reason, Asus put the right shift key in the wrong place, so I'm constantly hitting the up arrow/page up key instead. I might look for some means to swap the shift key and the up arrow key in software, but their placement decision makes the keyboard very annoying. The shift key is used much more often than the up arrow/page up key, so they should have put it in the right place. Had I known it was in the wrong place, I would have purchased the Acer Aspire One.
Great little laptop January 7, 2009 Very pleased with this laptop. Impressed with how long the battery keeps it runnng. Easy to take with me, a good pick for anyone on the go or just sitting at home,
904HA Finally Reviewed January 7, 2009 First of all, I watched the price of this computer for months while doing research and online comparing before buying one. I bought the first one before Thanksgiving and upon receipt, I found it had a faulty screen (lines down the left side of it). I returned it and was told that Amazon stopped carrying the product directly and I had to buy it from one of the vendors (who had since raised the price). After a few calls to Amazon they straightened the situation out and credited me for the delta to the new price.
I waited to write the review until I decided to order another one (which was when Amazon started carrying it directly again).
The 9" screen in the 10" case was actually preferable to me because the extra $ you pay for the 10" screen in the 1000HA gives you NO BETTER RESOLUTION. Why pay for a bigger screen if its not any better resolution? With the 904HA you get the bonus of the larger keyboard, harddrive and battery than the regular 900.
Anyone who tells you that the right shift key location is not annoying is a liar. But really, is that going to stop you from buying this computer? It shouldnt.
I left the harddrive partitioned into C: and D:. Not really sure why they set it up like that, but my D: has about 40G of music and another 15G of movies right now while my C: is all programs and system files.
Before I installed Antivirus this thing was ridiculously surprisingly fast in opening browers and webpages. Now that ive installed Norton its slightly slower than it was, but still really quick.
Outside of my original purchase being faulty, I love this computer. Ive played with a comparable ACER and dont have very nice things to say about it but its all personal preference.
