The nuevi 270 is built with a high-sensitivity WAAS-enabled GPS receiver for extreme accuracy, as well as an SD card slot for storing your media and additional navigation tools, and a USB interface for loading data. All this is wrapped up in a package that measures 3.8 x 2.8 x .8 inches (W x H x D) and weighs just 5.2 ounces. The nuevi 270's 3.5-inch (diagonal) display is touchscreen-enabled, making it a cinch to control the device with your fingertips.  cute but not enough January 8, 2009
Bought this for my daughter, she thought it was cute, but did not have the add on features she would of liked, so she returned it for one that suited her geek nature.

I bought this from Amazon as a Christmas present for my wife. When we first turned it on, roads around our neighborhood were missing. Some of these roads have existed for at least 5 to 6 years. We thought that when we registered it through Garmin's website, we would be offered a map update that would correct this. The only map we were offered was for Europe. Since we live in Tennessee, this didn't help the situation. These roads are our primary way in and out of the neighborhood. So, every trip starts by sending us in the opposite direction. When I go the way that I know, it tells me to make a U-turn.
We went to Sheffield Alabama last Saturday and used it to find the restaurant that we were going to. When we were nearly there, it told us to turn right and then stated that we were arriving at the destination on the right. The restaurant was nowhere to be found. We had to call the restaurant to find out where they were. Turns out that we needed to turn left instead of right and the location was about a mile on the right. On the trip to Sheffield, I looked at the display while driving on US Hwy 43 and noticed that it looked like I was driving through a field instead of on the road.

We received a Garmin Nuvi from our daughter & son-in-law prior to a 2-month trip to Alaska and couldn't believe how easily we could find the nearest Walmart, certain brands of gas, or the dentist office in an emergency. When we got home, they asked to borrow it, so we decided to get them the Garmin Nuvi 270 for Christmas. They've had a ball with it in just the short time they've had it. Also got a GREAT price on it at Amazon!

Bought for Xmas present and it is a treat to work with. Same controls as previous models, only one voice and like not having to raise the antenna. Going to Venice in March so we needed the European GPS model as buying the upgrade for prior Garmin was nearly as expensive as buying this model new. Meets my expectations.
