Product Description
Wireless RF (radio frequency) remote control features maximum operating range 100m. Compared to an infrared (IR) remote control, it allows you to operate the shutter from either direction / angle. It supports unique coding for anti-interference and avoiding wrong operation. 3 operations modes: At W mode, the receiver is active, you can use the transmitter to control the shutter or focus. At O mode, the receiver will be a normal remote switch, and it will not consume any power. At L mode, the receiver will lock the shutter for long exposure.

 Works great if you can accept a small delay January 7, 2009
I needed a remote control for my Canon 40D so I could get out from behind the camera when I'm taking portraits. The WR-A100 Wireless Remote worked great right out of the box. No problems figuring out how to use it.
I was disappointed that there is about a second or more delay from the time I press the button on the remote to the time the shutter fires. That's not problem for landscapes, but unacceptable for photographing babies and toddlers when split-second timing is critical.
Great product for the money January 2, 2009
This remote is perfect for wildlife shots. I was going to buy the Canon equivalent until I saw the price. Maybe worth the money if you're a professional but too much for hobby. I found this and bought it. Wow, what a great product. I haven't tried it at long distances yet - I have used it about 30ft away. Works perfect. Easy to charge and change batteries. The only downside I have found is the rechargeable battery in the receiver doesn't last very long. I tried using it overnight and it was dead in the morning. Not a big deal but it would be nice if it lasted 24 hours. The blue light is awfully bright but it hasn't been a problem for me yet, if it becomes one I'll just put electrical tape over it. Another improvement would be to put a retractable flexible antenna on the remote. The one they use has a tendency to break if sat on or bent.
Great product for the price December 31, 2008
This wireless shutter release is an unbeatable deal. I had priced out two other systems and both were well in excess of $500. While I could really use this feature (and found it very handy shooting a Balloon Glow last week) I simply could not justify the expense. When I found the WR-A100 on Amazon, I figured it was only about $20 more than a wired remote and was worth the $$ as a test.
It works great! The only problem is the antenna. I broke mine the first time I used it, but it doesn't seem to impact performance. I'd recommend an internal antenna on the next design instead of the telescoping version they're using now.
Highly recommended.

Iam very pleased wih this product. I do a lot of photography with animals and this remote was great as it allowed me to move about to get that perfect picture. I even used it to do a full family photo so that all of us could be in the picture:0)
