Very pleased January 6, 2009 I got this to replace an HP printer, primarily to add a scanner function. Unfortunately, I haven't spent much time printing photos, so I can't review the photo print quality now.
I did find it straight forward to set up and use. I initially tried to use Airport Express, but since this does not support scanners, I started over and used the built-in wireless. This worked fine.
My favorite feature is the auto-opening out feed tray. You can close all of the trays for a clean look, and when you print it will open automatically. The LCD interface was easy to use, but I generally use the computer interface.
Caveman simple January 6, 2009 I know absolutely nothing about computers. I did some researching on printers and chose the Canon mp620. I had installed and printing wirelessly in just over an hour. I was in shock that everything worked the first go at it. Taken into consideration, I already have wireless internet with a router. Thankfully I was blessed with the gift of knowing how to read. Honestly, that's all you need to get this thing working. I followed the manual step by step and had no problems.
So far the best printer I had January 4, 2009 I brought this printer from Frys electronics on a sale $89. I did had some glitches with setting up the printer ink cartridges and once I figured it out, then on wards it was very easy to setup the printer. I have tested some of the 4"X6" photos of my daughter's birthday party and it was very good. I never got any of this printer's picture qualities before from any of my previous printers. I previously owned an HP printer and it totally useless and was looking for some deals on printers and found this printer. After reading some reviews in Amazon I decided to buy it.
I configured this printer using wireless network configuration and it was very smooth. I was expecting some issues after reading some negative comments about setting up the wireless network configuration with this printer in Amzon. Anyways my systems are on a Windows Vista OS and if you have proper configuration details of your wireless router it is pretty easy to setup.
10 points for the picture print quality 8 points for setup and total time taken to configure is less than 45 mts.
Thank you
Very complicated setup January 1, 2009 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have never had a printer that was more complicated to set up. The 70 page "quick start" guide was confusing and unhelpful. Trying to use the Canon utility to set up wireless printing on a Mac was a nightmare. There are a number of positive reviews of the quality of the printing, etc - that is true, but brace yourself for a horrible setup experience and hope you never lose the manual if you ever want to change any of the settings down the road.
Easy Peasy and fully Functional December 31, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I needed a printer that was capable of WiFi connection. My desk top and router is upstairs and my laptop downstairs. We are in our early 70s and running up and down stairs was becoming difficult. Taking my time and following instructions, I had the printer coonected via wireless to the laptop and USB cable to desk top within an hour. Prints text and photos in high quality. Only draws 3.7 watts at idle and has sleek styling. High Five, Canon!
