Product Description
Kit includes: 1) Nikon Digital SLR & Laptop Backpack; 2) Deluxe Camera Tripod with Carrying Case; 3) 6-Piece Lens & Digital SLR Cleaning Kit ♦ Made from rugged, weather-resistant nylon, this backpack will easily hold your camera, lenses, flash and other accessories, while allowing you to keep your hands free for uninterrupted shooting. The two front pockets feature padded compartments with adjustable padded dividers, enough to safely hold an SLR camera body, and up to five lenses or other similarly-sized accessories. Two large, zippered side pockets and two small mesh side pockets are perfect for storing smaller accessories such as lens filters, memory cards, cables, batteries or film. This backpack also features a padded, zippered laptop compartment on the back of the bag, which comfortably holds a notebook computer up to 15.5 x 10.75 inches in size. A padded back and shoulder straps ensure comfort even when carrying heavy loads, and a topple-resistant base keeps your gear from falling over. A shirt or light jacket can be held with the elastic cords on the front of the pack, and adjustable straps along the sides are ideal for holding small tripods or light stands in place. ♦ Avoid camera shake and achieve maximum image quality by setting your camera on this sturdy, lightweight 57-inch tripod. Complete with 3-way pan head, leg locks and a quick release mount, this tripod will help you get the sharpest pictures possible. ♦ This 6-piece cleaning kit contains everything you'll ever need to keep your lenses and camera clean: Hurricane air blower, lens cleaning tissues, lens cloth, lens cleaning liquid, blower brush and cotton swabs.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars It is what it is.   November 21, 2008
This bag combo worked out great for me, I needed a lightweight portable tripod and I wanted a new bag so this was a great combo!

The bag.

Looks to be good quality build, and as for padding this thing has loads of padding and holds everything securely, some of the padding can be a bit annoying because it feels almost too tight but you can be sure that if you put something in, it will be exactly where you put it next time you open the bag. The tag on the bag says it holds 5 lenses, but I had no problem managing to get 5 into the lens compartment, plus one on the camera into the case, I then was able to get my teleconverter, hoods, and extra caps into a spot in the lens compartment that would have easily fit another lens so I believe you could get a total of 7 lenses into this thing with ease. As for the rest of my gear it was a game of stuff this here and put this there, but this bag is new to me and I'm sure I will come up with a better way to pack the bag. I got all my gear in there close to the way I want it, I can get it in there the way I want it. As for total space in this bag, I managed to stuff in 6 lenses (one on the camera) A teleconverter, two hoods, a camera, 8 filters, a large flash, 3 spare camera batteries, about 6 extra CF cards, and the cleaning kit that came with the bag all fit and there is still room for more.

The Tripod

This tripod will hold your camera steady in one place and pointed at your subject, it has a little hook on it so you can tie the tripod down so that you can get that piece of mind that gravity alone won't give you in high winds. I would not put a VHS camcorder on this tripod, in fact I probably wouldn't want to try and shoot video of any kind from it. Think of it as a tripod to hold your camera still. It isn't a rock, it is aluminum, it won't hold you up, it isn't a cane. I have used far better tripods than this one, but this one will get the job done and is small and light enough to take just about anyplace.

The Cleaning Kit

Yeah, it came with a cleaning kit, but I haven't really used the kit yet so I have no idea how good that is. The kit bag and the blower bulb look nice though.

3 out of 5 stars Not good for serious hiking and photography   July 30, 2008

As a whole quite a decent deal given the price and the things you get! I have used it in my recent hiking trip to Alaska. I have to say that although the bag might be good for short day hiking trips, it might not serve the purpose for longer hikes because the space inside is too tight to fit anything other than the laptop, camera, lenses and camera accessories. Also after putting in the laptop (mine is a Toshiba Satellite) it becomes a bit tight to fit in the camera I used (Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D) with the lens (Tamron 18-250 Di-II). All these made me quite anxious about whether there will be any damage to the external switches of the camera. Also I was concerned what it might mean for the laptop screen. So far didn't see any damage. I would say the bag is good for air travel, that is when you need to pack the laptop as well as the camera, but beyond that it actually depends on what are your priorities.

3 out of 5 stars Good addition to the Nikon Digital SLR   January 18, 2008

This isn't the top of the line accessory for your Nikon, but it is a nice set. The cleaning kit has everything you need. The tripod is sturdy but not industrial. The backpack is very nice, with plenty of room and protection for your equipment.

I was surprised that the tripod (and cover) that came with the kit doesn't really have a spot to secure it to the backpack. That would have been a plus. Good set for the money, not a pro kit outside of the backpack itself.
