Not actually a lens December 1, 2008 It should be noted this is a lens converter not an actual lens. One of those things you screw onto the end of a lens 52mm diameter ring comes with it, so it will fit a 28-55 kit lens. Pretty disappointed with it
amazing for the price November 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my Canon Rebel XTi. I usually use it on the 18-55 lens, and it works beautifully!! And the price can't be beat! The only thing is that it makes the lens so long that it gets in the way of the flash that comes with the XTi - if I need to use flash I have to use a mounted flash. Other than that, I've had a blast using this lens.
Best Dollar for Dollar November 4, 2008 Very Simple to use Great Dollar for Dollar compared to more expensive Full fisheye lenses
Wide angle only a little better October 15, 2008 The Opteka provides only a minor increase in the angle width and no "fisheye" effect.
Not quite worth its cheap price September 3, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I thought it would be fun to try a fish-eye lens (or a semi-fisheye). This sort of works OK, but the optics and image quality is very poor - quite fuzzy and unfocused. It's ok for small scaled (resized) down images.
Here is an example:
Note that, on my Canon 40D, the image is not fully round; part of it gets clipped at the bottom. This lens comes with an adapter for the standard 52mm lens; it will not work with the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 Zoom Lens (72mm) that comes with the Canon 40D, for example.
