 A good buy October 24, 2008
The charge works well and the built in lights are handy for when I shoot night photography. The charger being A/C D/C is another handy feature. I can charge my camera battery in the car or in any electrical outlet.
The batteries that came in the package, so far has never let me down. And they are a lot less expensive than the Canon brand.
Bottom line: I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone.

It's been over a year since I purchased these batteries and the charger. And they're still holding the same charge so that is good news. I am an amateur photog doing odd jobs like weddings up to 5 times a year. The batteries have never failed me, in fact, they have provided me with ample shooting time - even allowed me to shoot 4 hours without fail. I am wholly impressed with these batteries and will wonder if I would ever pay the Canon mark up for the same sort of life out of a battery??
As for the charger, I have not used the car adapter yet, but the regular function of using it in a wall outlet has been fine. It does the job and my house hasn't burned up in flames yet, so that must be a good sign.
I did have a funny story about the seller though - I ended up with "lower mAh than stated" batteries, sent the seller an email and they mailed me new SAME batteries. Not a big deal, but now I have even more than I will ever need.

I've written a seperate sterling review of the Sterlingtek 2000 amp hr battery and will now opine on the 2 battery set and charger which was how I purchased my package.
The batteries deliver as advertised - both in the BG-E1 (Digital Rebel) and BG-E2 (Canon 40D) Battery Grips I use. Recent Maui shooting (80f 80% humidity Dec/Jan 08) gave me over 700 total pictures - about 70 using the on board 40D flash - and about 200 more using the 28-135 mm IS lens which is a battery hog (in IS mode) without putting the battery indicator below 66%!!! I spend a cold weekend at Lake Tahoe at the end of November 07 - the Sterlingteks performed flawlessly in 34F temperature over an 8 hour period. I mix and match 3 Canon 1390 amp hr batteries - rotated thru the two battery grips with the 2000 amp hr Sterlingteks and have had no incidents, no short battery life and what is apparently endless power capacity on my Canon 40D and 300D (Digital Rebel)using their respective battery grips.
The charger has a 'drain the battery before charging feature' - not found on the Canon charger. Whether this keeps a 'memory' out of the lithum ion batteries which are not supposed to have a 'memory' I have no idea. The Sterlingtek charger is compact without a power cord - a plus - but does not inspire confidence with its flimsy engineering as being able to stand up over the long haul. Only time will tell.
A great package for Canon dSLR owners. Other pundits recommend using the Canon batteries only - but I cannot find fault with these Sterlingtek 2000 amp hr units - giving perfect performance since my 40D purchase in September 2007. For the price keep a couple of extras charged in the camera bag and sleep well at night! jmho

I got over 800 non-flash photos from two of these fully charged batteries in my 40D. The charger it's self is flimsy and feels cheaply made, but it seems to do the job. You can't beat the price too.
