Great card at a great price January 5, 2009 Prior to Christmas I found this card on [...] for [...] and it had so many great reviews, I bought three of them. When my hubby presented me with a new digital camera for Christmas (Canon SD880)which came with only a 32mb card, I was thrilled to have these 8gb cards on standby. Initially I got a memory card error but after reading the manual and formatting the card in the camera, it began to work immediately. After setting the camera to the continuous shoot mode, I was really amazed at how fast the card performed. As soon as I snapped a shot, I was able to snap immediately afterwards no beeping, buzzing or waiting. The Transcend card also did well when shooting in movie mode with my camera. I came here to price the 16gb card for my Camcorder, I cannot wait to see how great this card will be for recording as well.
Just worked for two months... :( January 4, 2009 It worked as advertised... for 8 weeks.
Then it just broke. I have tried formatting it from Windows, Mac Os, Linux, using fdisk, using cameras, using gadgets, and nothing.
Just stopped working...
Big, Fast, Inexpensive SDHC Memory Card - Recommended! January 2, 2009 The "Transcend 8 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card" is a very good value for an 8gb SDHC storage card. I am using this card in a Creative Labs 4gb Zen MP3 player to hold music and pictures. Here are my observations:
* Inexpensive for the Size * Very Fast Transfer Speeds
The card works as expected, recommended!
Solid card January 1, 2009 Super price and have been reliable. Have had the first one for about a year with no problems at all, and just added a second one. I've successfully used them with my Canon S3 and for file storage with a card reader.
1 out of 3 cards failed within the first hour of use January 1, 2009 I bought 3 Transcend 16 GB Class 6 SDHC cards along with the Canon AVCHD HF100 flash-based HD camcorder. 1 card exhibited a buffer overrun error in the camera within the first hour of video. Then the camcorder wouldn't even read the card or the videos already on it. Luckily, I was able to recover the videos using data recovery software. Incidentally, the other 2 identical Transcend cards I have didn't seem to have the issue, but a 33% failure rate is bad news. I'm staying away from Transcend from now on.
