One key to its impressive performance: Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses an innovative print head with 2,304 nozzles that eject consistent, precise ink droplets as small as 2 picoliters. More nozzles with high accuracy equal amazing results. This patented technology produces an outstanding resolution of up to 4800x1200 dpi, for superb detail and photo-realism. And for increased color accuracy, high-intensity Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta have been added to the conventional 4 inks. Be amazed at the improved photo results. The PIXMA iP6210D Photo Printer's built-in slots allows printing directly from compatible memory cards, and in this mode it automatically brightens faces, corrects for red eye and increases sharpness, as needed. The PIXMA iP6210D Photo Printer combines beautiful image quality with exceptional printing versatility. One key to its impressive performance: Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses an innovative print head with 2,304 nozzles that eject consistent, precise ink droplets as small as two picoliters. It's simple: more nozzles with high accuracy equal amazing results. This patented technology produces an outstanding resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, for superb detail and photo-realism. And for increased color accuracy, high-intensity Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta have been added to the conventional four inks. You'll be amazed at your photo results.

High performance doesn't stop there. You'll be able to print borderless photos with the look and feel of conventional photographs, in 4" x 6", 5" x 7" and 8.5" x 11" sizes. Now let's talk speed: printing a beautiful photo lab quality 4"x 6" borderless photo takes approximately 60 seconds. Plus, the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface enables the fastest photo transfers possible from your computer.

The PIXMA iP6210D's built-in slots let you print directly from compatible memory cards, and in this mode it automatically brightens your subjects' faces, corrects for red eye and increases sharpness, as needed. Or, you can print directly from your PictBridge compatible digital camera or DV camcorder, with automatic face brightening.

The Canon ChromaLife100 system combines the PIXMA iP6210D Photo Printer's FINE print head technology and newly developed inks with select Canon photo papers, with results rivaling that of many conventional photos. These beautiful photos will also last up to 100 years when stored in an archival quality photo album.

1 out of 5 stars Very Expensive to Operate   February 8, 2008
I printed about 50 4x6 pictures and the cartridges ran low. The cost of new cartridges is just about the same price as buying a new printer. The iP6210D is not worth the money, a poor value.

1 out of 5 stars No drivers   December 29, 2007
There are no Linux drivers for this printer. If you have this printer and run Linux, please contact tech support about the problem. They might get some sense, and produce drivers at some point. I've had the printer over a year, and no sign of drivers.

2 out of 5 stars not a good choice   December 18, 2007
The photos are nice (that is the only reason I give it two stars), but it uses ink like its going out of style and the cartrdiges are very expensive. If you replace both ink cartridges it is less expensive to buy a new printer. That's exactly what I did. This product is not recommended (if you can afford the ink you should be able to afford a printer with more features).

4 out of 5 stars Good little printer...   August 24, 2007

This printer came free with a digital camera I purchased from Amazon, and I have not been disappointed with the printer.

The printer came with everything I needed in the box to connect it to the computer, and it came with ink and software as well.

It prints about average speed, and has various print quality settings to choose from when printing photos.

For text, I have a B&W laser printer, but I kept this one for the occasional color document and for photos.

If I were looking for a photo printer, this one would not be my main choice, but it does a decent job for the occasional family photos.

The picture quality on photos is enough for my uses, but it is not quite as good as a more expensive printer would give, but good enough for framing a picture of our son to give grandpa, etc.

I enjoy the fact that you can plug a memory card directly into the printer to print pictures.

Overall, I am happy with the printer, especially since it was free for me!

2 out of 5 stars Below average   August 15, 2007

As everyone else is reporting, this printer is pretty expensive to maintain- the printer cartridges combined cost about $60 and that lasts me approximately 2-3 months. I print only a few pages a day, typically only in fast-draft. I heard about Walgreen's new inkjet refilling that costs a fraction of buying a new cartridge, but of course these cartridges are excluded from most of the Canon's being able to be refilled. Finally, I have had my printer for 9 months and after about month 5, my photos are often printed with smears on the front and back of pictures (even after using the printer's neat tools to fix smearing problems). Consequently, I highly reccomend not purchasing this printer, even if it is a good deal- in the end, it's not cost-effective or worth your money at all.
